About Us
Journey Across 5,000 Years — Feel the Pulse of Civilization.
Welcome to ChinaScroll.com — a cultural history information platform dedicated to telling the stories of China to the world.
Our Mission
China boasts an unbroken civilization that spans five millennia — a land where countless stories deserve to be remembered and understood. Yet cultural distance and fragmented information often make it difficult for international audiences to grasp the full depth and breadth of Chinese history. We built this site to serve as a bridge between worlds.
Our goals are simple:
- Make history accessible — through clear timelines, vivid biographies, and insightful event narratives, we transform heavy historical archives into an engaging journey of discovery.
- Connect civilizations — by juxtaposing Chinese history with world history and presenting thematic cultural content, we help users from all backgrounds find resonance and relevance.
- Democratize knowledge — with interactive timelines, rich multimedia content, and intuitive information design, we offer an open, friendly, and continuously growing historical resource.
Who We Are
We are an international team of historians, educators, content creators, and digital media designers. Among us are scholars devoted to classical Chinese texts, media professionals with years of experience in cross-cultural communication, and engineers passionate about empowering knowledge through technology.
A shared conviction unites us:
History is not dust in archives — it is the key to understanding today’s world.
Our Content
Our website currently features three core sections, with more to come:
| Section | Description |
|---|---|
| History Timeline | From the Xia and Shang dynasties to the Ming, Qing, and modern era, our interactive timeline presents dynastic successions alongside parallel world history events, offering a panoramic view at a glance. |
| Important Historical Figures | A curated collection of emperors, statesmen, philosophers, artists, scientists, and military leaders, each with their life stories and enduring legacies. |
| Major Historical Events | Focusing on the pivotal moments that shaped China’s destiny, we explore the backgrounds, processes, and far-reaching impacts of each event. |
In the future, we will introduce additional thematic features covering philosophy, science and technology, art, and daily life, guiding our users into the spiritual heart of Chinese civilization.
